2013 DIA De LOS MUERTOS FESTIVAL
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd
The Unity Council and Wells Fargo present the 18th Annual Dia De Los Muertos Festival at the Fruitvale Transit Village in Oakland. This FREE, outdoor, family friendly event invites the Bay Area community to experience this colorful cultural holiday. The celebration will feature community altars made by local artists and community members. Live music, Ballet folkorico, Aztec dancers and local artisian’s crafts on display. Come and enjoy the flavores of Latin American cuisine and a day filled with entertainment, art and community.
The Festival takes place at the Fruitvale Transit Village, from 10am-5pm, starting at East 12th and 33rd Avenue to 37th Avenue. Opening Ceremonies at 10am on the Community stage, sponsored by KBLX. The event is hosted by The Unity Council. The Unity Council is a non-profit Community development corporation that focuses on improving the quality of life for families in the Fruitvale District of Oakland.
